When I am facing issues of temptation, pride, lust, or spiritual attack,
I can always choose to:
Live by God’s PRINCIPLES or human PRESSURES.
We must obey God rather than men. Acts 5:29
Do not be anxious about anything, but in every situation, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God. Philippians 4:6
Live by REASON or RAGE.
A soft answer turns away wrath. Proverbs 15:1
Do not be wise in your own eyes; fear the Lord and shun evil. Proverbs 3:7
Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding; in all your ways acknowledge him, and he will make your paths straight. Proverbs 3:5
Live by HUMILITY or PRIDE.
When pride comes, then comes disgrace, but with humility comes wisdom. Proverbs 11:2
Live by God’s JUSTICE or human VENGEANCE.
Do not take revenge, my friends, but leave room for God’s wrath, for it is written: ‘It is mine to avenge; I will repay ,’ says the Lord. Romans 12:19
Live by BLESSINGS or CURSES.
Bless those who persecute you; bless and do not curse. Romans 12:14
Do not be overcome by evil, but overcome evil with good. Romans 12:21
