Encourage One Another

This is why I weep and my eyes overflow with tears.  No one is near to encourage me, no one to restore my spirit.  Lamentations 1:16

 All of us feel this way from time to time.  Our hearts are heavy and broken; we cry out for encouragement, for our spirits to be restored.

We urge you, brothers and sisters, encourage the timid, help the weak, be patient with everyone.  1 Thessalonians 5:14

 One of the primary callings for a Christian is to patiently encourage and help those who are burdened.

Be kind and compassionate to one another, forgiving one another, just as in Christ God forgave you.  Ephesians 4:32

Be completely humble and gentle; be patient, bearing with one another in love.  Ephesians 4:2.

 Collectively and as part of the body of Christ, his followers are called to provide kindness, compassion and mercy to one another.

I long to see you so that I may impart to you some spiritual gift to make you strong – that is, that you and I may be mutually encouraged by each other’s faith.  Romans 1:11,12

 As we labor together in the lord’s vineyard, we become aware and sensitized to one another’s needs, and are moved by the Holy Spirit to minister to one another.

 The end result:

we are of mutual blessing to one another;

our faith is strengthened.
