Encourage One Another
This is why I weep and my eyes overflow with tears. No one is near to encourage me, no one to restore my spirit. Lamentations 1:16
All of us feel this way from time to time. Our hearts are heavy and broken; we cry out for encouragement, for our spirits to be restored.
We urge you, brothers and sisters, encourage the timid, help the weak, be patient with everyone. 1 Thessalonians 5:14
One of the primary callings for a Christian is to patiently encourage and help those who are burdened.
Be kind and compassionate to one another, forgiving one another, just as in Christ God forgave you. Ephesians 4:32
Be completely humble and gentle; be patient, bearing with one another in love. Ephesians 4:2.
Collectively and as part of the body of Christ, his followers are called to provide kindness, compassion and mercy to one another.
I long to see you so that I may impart to you some spiritual gift to make you strong – that is, that you and I may be mutually encouraged by each other’s faith. Romans 1:11,12
As we labor together in the lord’s vineyard, we become aware and sensitized to one another’s needs, and are moved by the Holy Spirit to minister to one another.
The end result:
we are of mutual blessing to one another;
our faith is strengthened.
